Aromatherapy and Oncology

Complimentary therapies, such as aromatherapy and massage can be extremely beneficial for anyone with Cancer, because the illness has such a big impact on the whole person.

Not only are you dealing with a serious physical illness, but you’re also having to cope with the emotional rollercoaster which often comes with a cancer diagnosis. The emotional upheaval will almost certainly impact your friends and family, which in turn will have an effect on your relationships.

While massage and aromatherapy do not claim to be a cure for cancer, they can help alleviate many of the side effects, both physical and emotional, of the cancer.

All my treatments and packages can be adapted for cancer patients, but the best options are Oncology Massage (very light touch, no oils) or Aromatherapy Massage (pressure can be adapted, includes essential oils).   If you are unsure what to choose, please contact me for more information.

People have found Aromatherapy to be helpful for:

Relaxation, Coping with stress, Feeling more positive, Improving sleep, Easing muscular and joint problems, Reducing headaches and pain, Tackling nausea, anger and fatigue, Improving physical and emotional wellbeing

Helping people with cancer is the most rewarding work that I do.

As part of my continual professional development, I have completed training in Aromatherapy for Cancer Care at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London,  Oncolgy Massage., and End of Life care.

I have been volunteering as an aromatherapist at the Berkshire based charity My Cancer My Choices since 2018, and during this time I have treated many patients at all different stages of their cancer illness.  Being able to hold the space for them, and give them a treatment to help them relax, or ease their pain at such a difficult time of their lives is such a special experience.  The patients often walk out of the treatment room feeling completely revitalised, having spent the last hour ‘stress free/pain free’.
